Depok City, which borders the capital city Jakarta, has experienced rapid population growth, leading to an increase in population density. However, not all individuals of working age have found employment. There are more than 80,000 unemployed people in Depok City, with nearly 50 percent of them being high school graduates. Therefore, the author collected sample data through questionnaires distributed at SMK Lingga Kencana Pancoran Mas Depok, SMK Perwira Bangsa, and SMK Bina Rahayu in hopes of contributing to reducing the unemployment rate in Depok. Given the existing problems, it is essential to develop the potential and interests of vocational school students. This research was conducted to identify the interests and potential of SMK students using one of the methods in Data Mining, namely the C4.5 algorithm. This algorithm was chosen because it can create classification rules with various configurations visualized through decision trees, making them easy to understand. Based on previous research references, it has been concluded that the C4.5 algorithm can predict whether students will pass or fail competency exams. The evaluation and validation results using a confusion matrix with training data showed an accuracy rate of 81.22% for the C4.5 algorithm.
