Copyright ownership, first publication rights, and authors' retained rights for published scholarly works.

Authors who publish their work in BARAKATI: Journal of Community Service, published by PT. Sangadji Media Publishing, agree to the following copyright terms. These provisions clarify copyright ownership, the journal's first publication rights, and the rights retained by authors after publication.

Authors Retain Copyright

Authors retain full copyright ownership of their published scholarly works. Publication in BARAKATI does not transfer copyright from the authors to the journal or its publisher. Authors remain responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights and permissions for any third-party material included in their manuscripts.

02 · First Publication Rights

First Publication by BARAKATI

Authors grant BARAKATI: Journal of Community Service the right of first publication of their articles. The journal is acknowledged as the original publishing venue for the version of record. This arrangement does not constitute a transfer of copyright ownership to the journal or publisher.

03 · Authors' Retained Rights

Reuse, Distribution, and Republishing

Authors retain the right to reuse, distribute, share, and republish their published work, or portions of it, for academic, educational, research, and other lawful purposes, including commercial purposes, subject to applicable law, third-party rights, and the terms of any relevant license.

When reusing or republishing their work, authors are required to provide appropriate acknowledgment of the original publication in BARAKATI. The citation should include, where available:

  • The names of the author(s).
  • The article title.
  • BARAKATI: Journal of Community Service as the original publisher.
  • The publication year, volume, issue, page numbers or article number, and DOI or article URL, where available.

License Terms for Readers and the Public

The rights of readers and other users to access, copy, distribute, adapt, or otherwise reuse published articles are governed by the journal's applicable licensing terms. Copyright ownership and the rights granted under a license are distinct matters.
