Penerapan Modul Filtrasi Air Sederhana Mendukung Ketersediaan Air Bersih di Lingkungan SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Banjarbaru

Ketersediaan air dengan kualitas yang baik merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam mendukung kesehatan, sanitasi, dan kenyamanan warga sekolah. SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Banjarbaru menghadapi permasalahan kualitas air sumur yang ditandai dengan kondisi air relatif keruh, nilai pH 6,1, serta belum tersedianya sistem pengolahan air sederhana yang dapat dioperasikan secara mandiri oleh warga sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan menerapkan modul filtrasi air sederhana berbasis teknologi tepat guna sekaligus meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru serta siswa dalam pengelolaan air bersih. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui tahapan observasi dan identifikasi kebutuhan, sosialisasi dan edukasi, perakitan serta instalasi modul, pengujian kualitas air, pelatihan pengoperasian dan pemeliharaan, serta evaluasi. Modul filtrasi memanfaatkan pasir, kerikil, arang aktif, ijuk, pipa PVC, dan drum plastik sebagai komponen utama. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa proses filtrasi mampu menurunkan kekeruhan air sekitar 80–90%, meningkatkan kestabilan pH pada kisaran 6,8–7,2, serta mengurangi intensitas bau dan warna air. Selain perbaikan karakteristik air, kegiatan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan warga sekolah dalam pengoperasian serta pemeliharaan modul. Penerapan teknologi filtrasi sederhana dapat menjadi alternatif solusi tepat guna untuk mendukung pengelolaan air di lingkungan sekolah secara partisipatif dan berkelanjutan.
