Comparative Analysis of Income from Organic and Inorganic Rice Farming in Sembojo Village Tulis District Batang Regency Central Java Province

Abstract

Indonesia makes rice its staple food, with paddy being an important food crop after wheat and corn. In Central Java, wetland rice contributes significantly to harvested area and production. This study aims to analyze the comparison of cost structure and income of organic and inorganic rice farming using a descriptive quantitative method. The results show that: The total cost of organic rice farming is IDR 6,777,070/ha/planting season, higher than IDR 5,911,809/ha/planting season for inorganic rice. The average total revenue of organic rice reaches IDR 39,024,000, while inorganic rice is IDR 31,104,000. The average income of organic rice farming is IDR 32,246,930, higher than IDR 25,192,191 for inorganic rice. The R-C ratio for organic and inorganic rice is 5.7 and 5.2, respectively. The difference test shows a significant difference in income, with organic rice providing higher revenue. The conclusion is that organic rice farming is more profitable and has promising prospects for development.
