Manuscript Types

PROCURATIO: Jurnal Manajemen & Bisnis publishes scholarly contributions that advance knowledge, theory, and practice in management and business. The journal accepts four types of manuscripts: original research articles, review articles, book reviews, and letters to the editor.

Authors should select the manuscript type that best reflects the purpose, content, and scholarly contribution of their submission. All manuscripts must align with the journal's focus and scope, meet the applicable academic and ethical standards, and follow the journal's author guidelines. Submission under any category does not guarantee acceptance for publication.

01. Original Research Articles

Research-Based

Original Research Articles report previously unpublished findings derived from systematic theoretical or empirical investigations. Submissions may employ quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, or other appropriate research approaches. Articles should address a clearly defined research problem, establish a relevant theoretical foundation, explain the research methodology, present and interpret the findings, and discuss their theoretical or practical implications.

Manuscripts must demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, and a meaningful contribution to management and business scholarship. Authors should clearly explain the research gap and identify how their findings extend existing knowledge or inform professional practice.

Recommended structure

Introduction; Literature Review and Hypothesis Development, where applicable; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; and References.

02. Review Articles

Literature Synthesis

Review Articles provide a critical, systematic, or integrative synthesis of existing scholarship in management and business. They should critically evaluate relevant literature, identify patterns and contradictions in previous findings, assess theoretical developments, and highlight significant research gaps.

Depending on their objectives, submissions may include systematic literature reviews, integrative literature reviews, bibliometric reviews, or other appropriate review approaches. Authors must explain the review methodology, including the sources searched, search strategy, selection criteria, and analytical procedures, as applicable.

A strong review article should go beyond describing previous studies. It should provide a coherent synthesis, develop meaningful theoretical insights, and propose relevant directions for future research or practice.

03. Book Reviews

Critical Assessment

Book Reviews provide critical and informative assessments of books relevant to management, business, and related disciplines. Reviews should identify the book's bibliographic details, summarize its main arguments and contributions, evaluate its strengths and limitations, and explain its relevance to researchers, academics, students, and practitioners.

A book review should present a balanced and evidence-based assessment rather than merely summarizing the contents. Authors should explain the book's contribution to existing knowledge and identify its potential value for scholarship or professional practice.

04. Letters to the Editor

Scholarly Correspondence

Letters to the Editor provide a concise scholarly forum for commenting on articles previously published in PROCURATIO, discussing relevant developments in management and business, or raising substantive academic issues within the journal's scope.

Submissions should present a clear argument, be supported by relevant evidence or scholarly references where appropriate, and maintain a constructive and professional tone. Letters that respond to previously published articles should identify the article concerned and clearly explain the specific point, interpretation, or finding being discussed.

Letters to the Editor should contribute meaningfully to academic discussion and must not be used for personal attacks, unsupported allegations, or promotional purposes. The editorial team may invite a response from the original author when appropriate. All submissions are subject to editorial assessment and any review procedures deemed necessary by the journal.

Editorial Considerations

All manuscript types must be relevant to the journal's focus and scope and comply with its publication ethics and submission requirements. The editorial team determines the suitability of each submission and the applicable evaluation process. Manuscript classification does not imply automatic acceptance or exemption from editorial assessment.
