Review Process Policy
SCIENTIA: Journal of Multi-Disciplinary Science, published by PT Sangadji Media Publishing, is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and rigorous manuscript evaluation and peer-review process. All submissions are assessed for their relevance to the journal's scope, originality, academic quality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and suitability for publication. The review process consists of an initial submission and editorial screening stage, followed by formal submission through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and peer review for manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation.
1. Initial Manuscript Submission by Email
Authors are required to submit their manuscripts initially by email to the journal's editorial office for preliminary editorial evaluation. At this stage, authors should provide the complete manuscript and any relevant supporting information required for the initial assessment. The editorial team will examine whether the manuscript is consistent with the journal's focus and scope, follows the basic manuscript preparation requirements, demonstrates an appropriate level of scholarly quality, and meets the journal's fundamental publication ethics requirements.
The initial editorial evaluation is intended to determine whether a manuscript is suitable to proceed to formal submission and peer review. Manuscripts that are outside the journal's scope, substantially incomplete, clearly unsuitable for scholarly publication, or raise significant preliminary ethical concerns may be declined at this stage without proceeding to the formal peer-review process.

2. Initial Editorial Evaluation
The editor will conduct an initial assessment of each manuscript received by email. This evaluation may include examining the manuscript's relevance to the journal's scope, originality and contribution to knowledge, clarity of presentation, research design and methodology, completeness of the manuscript, and compliance with publication ethics requirements. The editor may also conduct or request an initial similarity check and other appropriate screening procedures.
Following this evaluation, the editor will inform the author whether the manuscript is eligible to proceed to formal submission through OJS. Passing the initial evaluation does not constitute acceptance for publication; it only indicates that the manuscript may proceed to the next stage of the editorial process.
3. Formal Submission through OJS
Authors whose manuscripts pass the initial editorial evaluation will be invited to submit the manuscript formally through the journal's OJS platform. Authors must complete the required submission steps, provide accurate author and manuscript metadata, upload the necessary files, and confirm compliance with the journal's submission guidelines and publication ethics policies.
The editorial team will verify the formal submission before assigning the manuscript to suitable reviewers. A manuscript that has not passed the initial evaluation should not be considered eligible for formal submission unless the editorial office has provided the author with permission to proceed.
4. Peer-Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial evaluation and are formally submitted through OJS will be considered for peer review. The editor will select qualified reviewers whose expertise is relevant to the manuscript's subject matter and who can provide an objective and constructive assessment. The journal may assign one or more reviewers, with a maximum of five reviewers for any individual manuscript.
Reviewers are expected to evaluate the manuscript's originality, scientific or scholarly contribution, theoretical foundation where applicable, methodological appropriateness, accuracy of analysis, interpretation of findings, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with ethical standards. Reviewers will provide recommendations and comments to assist the editor in making an informed editorial decision.
The journal will seek to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts during peer review. Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline assignments where they cannot provide an impartial evaluation. The editor is responsible for managing the review process and making the final editorial decision.
5. Editorial Decisions
Based on the reviewers' reports, the editor's assessment, and the journal's publication standards, a manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:
- Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication without further substantive revision, subject to any final editorial requirements.
- Minor Revision: The author must address limited concerns or make minor improvements before a final decision.
- Major Revision: Substantial revisions are required, and the revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further assessment.
- Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's requirements for publication.
A request for revision does not guarantee acceptance. Revised manuscripts must address the reviewers' and editor's comments adequately and may undergo additional evaluation before a final decision is made.
6. Final Decision and Publication
The final decision rests with the editor, who considers the reviewers' recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the journal's editorial and ethical requirements. Manuscripts that are accepted will proceed to the journal's production process, including copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and publication preparation, as applicable.
SCIENTIA: Journal of Multi-Disciplinary Science reserves the right to decline a manuscript at any stage if substantial concerns arise regarding its scholarly quality, suitability, originality, or compliance with publication ethics. All editorial decisions are made with the aim of maintaining the quality, integrity, and credibility of the journal.
Commitment to Fair and Rigorous Review
The journal is committed to conducting manuscript evaluation and peer review fairly, confidentially, and consistently. The initial email screening and subsequent OJS-based peer-review process are designed to ensure that manuscripts receive appropriate editorial consideration and, where eligible, an independent scholarly assessment before a publication decision is made.
